How do I light my eye correctly?

Light your eye with a torch held at an angle from the side so the iris is bright and fully visible. Don't shine light straight into the pupil and don't use a direct camera flash from the front – that creates a large reflection or an overexposed area with no structure.

Do I need a special camera?

No. A current smartphone is enough. What matters is that the iris is bright, sharp and fully visible – ideally lit with a torch held at an angle from the side.

How close do I need to be to the eye?

About 15 to 25 centimetres. Tap directly on the iris in the camera view so the focus locks there, and hold the phone steady.

What happens to my photo?

Accepted Answer

Your photo is used solely to create your iris and your artwork. It's resized and stripped of metadata before upload. You can delete your project, including all images, completely at any time.

Does the result really look like my eye?

Yes. First, a true-to-life, colour-accurate iris is generated from your photo. Only then is the art style applied on top, so your individual fibre pattern remains recognisable.

How many people can one artwork include?

Between one and six people. Each iris is generated individually and then combined into one shared image. Additional fusion styles are available for multiple people.

What resolution does it have?

The iris is computed internally at a large size, and the artwork is output in high resolution with print resolution applied. That's sufficient for typical poster and canvas sizes.

How long does creation take?

Usually a few minutes per step. It may take a little longer under high load; progress is shown to you the whole time.

€4.99 per iris including two finished artworks – two art styles or the same style in two formats (square and landscape) –, €3.99 per additional artwork, and €49.00 for the high-resolution print file – the base fee is credited on the first print file purchase. Can I try several styles?

Yes, within the number of artworks allowed per project. Styles you've already used are marked in the selection.

A generation attempt failed – what now?

Accepted Answer

You can simply restart that step. A failed attempt doesn't block the style or your project.
